Remarks Usually concidered as a probable, but not confirmed double with Steinheim. There is some data which does not support the idea that Ries and Steinheim are crater doublets (Schmieder et.al. 2014b). Origin of moldavites.
Impactor: achondrite or chondrite?
Age of 14.87 ±0.36 Ma was in MAPS (May 1999) but latest age which I have heard is 14.1 Ma.
