Remarks Diameter of 28km offered. This impact structure was earlier known as the Teague Ring. In 1998 Australia Geological Survey renamed it as the Schoemaker impact structure in honour of the astro-geologist Gene Shoemaker. He died in a car accident when he and his wife where heading to study this impact structure.
