Impact related geological layersThese are geological layers with impact related materials like microtektites, spherules, shocked quartz or glass. Also K/T layer is one of these, but since Chicxulub structure is found, I don't list K/T layer (it is only a ejecta deposit of Chicxulub crater). All of these layers are in matter of fact quite well confirmed and I'm thinking of moving these in my main list of Impact structures of the World. Unlike typical impact structures, origin of these layers are not known and the original impact structure may have be even other side of the planet today. Some of cases above are already proven, but I'll like to have coordinates before I'll add structure into my list. ÖSMAREN, Sweden N60 0 E 18 30 2.5 ? #) These structures are from my list of circular features of Finland e.g. possible impact structres. However, if even one of those (there is 48 of them) will prove to be an impact structure I would be a happy man. My original list is longer, but I choose only best looking structures for this list. The #-character is used also in discredided structures list. Check: -means that I or somebody else has checked the structure. "No evidences" -means that no evidences for or agains was found. "Non-impact structure" -means that found outcrops or other good indications shows that there is propably no impact structure, but evidences are not yet good enough (studied or in quality) to discredit the structure. POSSIBLE impact structures from X-SAR imagesThe next list of probable and possible impact structures from X-SAR images is based on "Meteoric craters discovery by means of X-SAR images examination" -articles (2 parts) by Roberto Gorelli, who kindly posted the article to me. Article has been published in IMO's WGN.-magazine. All X-SAR structures with coordinates and diameters are presented in those articles. Numbers after X-SAR -name are from articles too. Other structures are only mentioned in the articles. Structure number 16 seems to be Deep Bay impact structure, which is known for a long time. Structures 25-31 were presented in a shorter article published in Meteorite!-magazine. In that article 10 structures were presented. 7 of them were new and 3 of them were presented already in WGN article mentioned above. Readers should remember that origin of these structures is not confirmed by field studies, which makes it highly possible that many (most?) of these are not extraterestrial in origin. ??, South Korea N E 13.0 X-SAR 1, Libya N31 18 E 15 39 16.74 <100 possible X-SAR 2, Sudan N17 7 E 33 58 60.3 <100 probable X-SAR 3, Sudan N18 56 E 32 45 0.9 <1 possible X-SAR 4, Madagascar S21 22 E 46 38 0.855 <10 possible X-SAR 5, Madagascar S21 5 E 46 47 2.47 <10 probable X-SAR 6A, Bulgan, Mongolia N48 38 E104 18 2.576 <10 proved?
